What is Salesforce Sales Cloud?

Salesforce Sales Cloud is a cloud-based software that helps businesses effectively streamline their sales and marketing operations. Today, Salesforce is the Leading CRM (customer relationship administration) platform. Salesforce also provides companies with quick access to web-based software over the web.

Salesforce was founded in 1999 by Marc Benioff as a Software as a Service (SaaS) company headquartered in San Francisco, California. The goal was to make the purchase of software easier for organizations without setting up fees, maintenance, and other constant upgrades.

This has helped companies save millions of {dollars} that include software program installation and managing the {hardware} infrastructure.

Salesforce implementation is quite easy and simple. and with a shift to Cloud Computing, the Salesforce CRM platform has managed to deliver distinctive services and products at a fraction of the price. This has helped increase its reputation to newer heights. The products it provides include Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Analytics Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Force.com, IoT Cloud, Financial Services Cloud, Health Cloud, Chatter, and App Cloud.

  • Unlimited Edition: Unlimited CRM power and support $300/user/month (billed annually)

It’s also important to keep in mind the four different clouds available: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Commerce Cloud.

 Each of these “clouds” is tailored to its intended audience. The Sales Cloud, for example, is more focused on sales and includes lead and opportunity management, collaborative forecasting on higher plans, and other features.

Commerce, on the other hand, is primarily concerned with eCommerce. It does not list prices, and you must request a quote for each of the three tiers.

Are you still confused? That’s completely normal. To be honest, Salesforce needs to simplify this area. We understand that different businesses have different needs, but Salesforce presents its pricing as a series of levels that subdivide in an unintuitive manner.

 We mentioned earlier that the price could quickly rise as more Salesforce packages are added, which is exacerbated by the complicated pricing.

 Aside from the price complexity, what Salesforce offers for each tier can be useful in certain scenarios. A small business focused on sales, for example, can get started for $25 per user/per month, billed annually on the “Essentials” tier.

A small business can use the Sales Cloud Essential tier to manage accounts, contacts, leads, and opportunities, as well as integrate email with Gmail or Outlook and use the dedicated Salesforce mobile app. It’s a good place to start, especially if your company is expected to grow—you can scale up as needed.

 However, it is worth noting that the maximum number of users for that tier is 10, which is not immediately apparent in that tier–and may not be appropriate for a small business looking to grow aggressively.

First of all, you won’t have access to collaborative forecasting and rules-based lead scoring until the second tier, which costs $75 per month/per user and is essential for actively growing businesses. The third tier adds workflow and approval automation for $150 per user/month, but 24/7 customer support is not available until the fourth tier, which costs $300 per user/month.

Some of this is standard tier limitation, but it’s a little disappointing that 24/7 customer support is only available on the pricey fourth tier.

Salesforce’s pricing problem arises from the fact that it is a massive product designed for large and growing businesses with diverse needs. And that is just Salesforce’s software pricing, not including optional add-ons like Pardot and myTrailhead, which must be purchased separately. Not to mention the additional costs if you choose training and implementation assistance. Given all of this, it’s best to think of each tier’s price as a starting point—the overall total will be much higher.

We like Salesforce a lot, but its pricing is the weakest link in its offering, and it could be a deal-breaker for businesses looking for a simple plan they don’t have to think about too much.

You also can automate manual tasks such as filling out orders or placing together in-depth proposals. It’s simple and flexible.

Customization options: You can fully customize Salesforce the best way you need and wish it to be. You perform this with both point-and-click tools or through code for more in-depth customization. You also can add custom fields and tabs, e-mail templates, enhanced reports and dashboards, and automatic task management. There are a few limitations here overall, providing you with much more options and flexibility.

Disadvantages

Expensive: Salesforce has relatively high costs when compared to other CRM systems, and small businesses will bear the brunt of this. Even for basic features, additional customization and integrations add up.

Too much for the smallest teams and companies: Smaller teams that don’t require everything Salesforce has to offer may find the software overwhelming or too large to use effectively. Smaller businesses that aren’t actively trying to grow will find it more complicated than necessary for their more basic needs.
